Does the Fire Department offer any special programs to the public?

In addition to providing the residents of Gardena with the highest level of fire and rescue emergency assistance, more than 30 career employed fire department members work to supply citizens with non-emergency services, such as:

  • Fire education programs for groups of all sizes and ages;
  • Fire inspections for homes and businesses; Fire station and hydrant location maps;
  • Smoke detector programs; Fire station tours;
  • Blood pressure screenings at local fire stations; and the
  • Spark of Love toys for Christmas program.

If you are interested in participating in any of these programs or would like additional information, please contact (310) 217-8391 or visit the LA County Fire Department website. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is located at 1650 West 162nd Street in Gardena, and the office hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
