The City of Gardena Public Works Department is responsible for keeping all Gardena streets clean of cinder, trash, and debris. Street sweeping not only keeps City streets cleaner and safer, but it also reduces health hazards. Major arteries and heavily traveled roads are swept twice a week. Secondary roads, ramps, and bike lanes are swept once a week, and residential streets and roads that receive little use are also swept once a week. Street sweeping signs are posted throughout the city with the sweeping schedule, so citizens can move vehicles parked along the road before sweeping occurs. It is a violation for any vehicle to be parked along the road during the posted day and times.
To report an area that needs immediate attention, contact the Public Works Department at (310) 217-9568, Monday through Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays.
